ROLE OF ADULT GUILD

Ms. Albright and I would like to bring parents/guardians together at the beginning of the project (4:30, Monday, January 13, 2014) for an overview of the project, hospitality, and information. We would like to show how guardians can easily reference schedules, job descriptions, the stage manager’s daily report, and the production schedule on the website. Hopefully, even, the scenic and costume designs-- especially as they evolve-- can be scanned or uploaded with drawings, sketches, and ground plans. This will be interesting to see how they grow/change and what the director approves. I am always thrilled to see designs and sketches, then weeks later see them realized. Later in the production schedule, the sound design begins to emerge, and the hope is that notes and musical excerpts can be uploaded, also.
The program for the final production will be a virtual program, looping on several different screens in the lobby space. All the designs, progressions, rehearsal and publicity photos will accompany interviews with artistic staff and actors along the way. Administration, director, and parent/guardian interviews will also be uniquely edited and compiled to patrons may view the program before the house opens and at intermission.
From the original group we hope to form an Adult Guild. This is not to build sets, but to assist on the virtual program, any gathering that requires a drivers license, and most importantly, as an Advisory Board. Promotion and community awareness, along with hospitality, is another domain – and not taking posters around, but actually overseeing the promotional plan that the Marketing Director is conceiving.
A community outreach event is in development at this time. It is a day-long event, open to the public and involving them in a kind of active preparation to see the play. It will be given by the student artists, take small groups through the five acts of the play in five separate locations/rooms, and it would include stage combat for fun, poetry for awe, psychology for survival, and form and rhythm connection. This Director works in a participatory method with the show not being able to continue without audience participation/input. This event will encompass and prepare the frame for this to occur in the production.
