Hamlet always wears black...good reason to not.
The light and dark of the play....transparent to flesh, ghost to breath is haunting me. There is an ever-present character of Fear. This begins to choke me as I realize the parallel...actually the reflection of this concept in our lives today.
We test for fear we'll lose money. We politicize for fear we'll lose power. We race for fear our place will be taken away. We discipline for fear we'll lose control.
Light is utility for fear of the dark. but there is only Light, which we can only get to with words and sharing those words. Even Scripture is considered a "lamp unto my feet" There is only Light. Even truth felt is considered enlightenment. Death journies to Light.
There is no dark bulb...
Out of this poetry I journey to laundry and grocery...it is Saturday, after all.
